Tax rates, legal rules and other published figures must be traceable to a government, regulator, legislation or the maker's published information. Each calculator lists its sources and the dates they were checked. A checked date records when a source was consulted; it is not a guarantee that the rule will remain unchanged. Rules of thumb are used only where the calculator specification allows them and are labelled as such.
Calculations must be checked against the official worked examples named in the specification. Where no official example exists, a case is worked through from the official rules and recorded for review. Example purchase prices, rents and expenses illustrate how a tool works; they are not market averages or personal recommendations. The explanation must identify assumptions, rounding and any excluded costs or circumstances.
An announced measure must be labelled separately from current law. Missing facts, unpublished figures or unverified methods must not be replaced with invented values. A tool may explain an unresolved result, but that explanation does not make the missing calculation complete. Changes to the rates and rules used by calculators are recorded in the rule-change log with dated sources.
Author names and biographies come from the publisher. No expert review or professional endorsement is claimed, and no credentials are invented. Draft and review content requires approval before production publication. Scheduled content also waits for its publication date. A preview is labelled as a draft and is excluded from indexing.
To report a possible error, include the calculator name, the figures used, the result shown and the result you expected. An official reference and its date help us assess a rule or formula. Leave out names, property addresses and other personal financial information. Corrections to rates or rules should be checked against the source and recorded in the rule-change log. Use the contact page for the publisher's available contact details.
The calculators provide estimates and general information, not professional advice. Sources, assumptions and rules can change or contain errors. Check the official references and speak to a qualified professional before acting on a result.
